Will Wendigo Donner return to Outlander Season 6?
Could Outlander Season 6 see the return of Wendigo Donner to the storyline?
The Outlander Season 5 finale confirmed our suspicions. The man with the strong American accent was most definitely Wendigo Donner. Will he return for Outlander Season 6?
There is a chance that he could return. Claire asked Jamie if an “Indian” was part of the men killed during the finale. Jamie didn’t see him, which suggests Donner got away.
That wouldn’t be surprising considering it’s the way the storyline played out in the book. The time-traveling man got away from Lionel’s group, saving himself and not thinking about any others. Seeing Jamie and his men coming towards them, I can’t really say I blame him.
There is a storyline in the books that involves Donner. What we don’t know is whether Outlander Season 6 will include it. Understandably, not everything can be included for a variety of reasons. There isn’t much time to include everything from the books and the actors may not be available at the time of filming.

I’d say the actual storyline will play a part. It’s a major one and involves the burning of the Big House—the reason for Brianna and Roger to travel back in time. Whether Donner will be a part of it like he is in the books is up for debate.
There is a slim chance actor Brennan Martin isn’t available. However, let’s be honest, with the filming of almost everything on hold right now, it’s unlikely that new projects will come up and cause problems for Outlander. It’s not impossible but is unlikely. So, that would keep him available for an episode of Outlander Season 6.
I’d like to see Donner’s storyline play out. While a small role, he is another time traveler. Plus, I do feel like it would be good to see Claire face him in some sort of way or Brianna to find out about him like in the books.

Outlander Season 6 filming will likely start in fall 2020.
