4. Who will Young Ian confide in?

Young Ian is carrying a lot of grief and anger. We got to see just a small bit of that during his time with Roger and then his talk with Brianna and Claire. There was also a hint of things to come during his conversation with Marsali.

Young Ian needs to find someone to confide in. During the fourth season premiere, he confided in Jamie, but I don’t think it’s going to be Jamie this time. The novels see him turn to Marsali and Brianna. However, I could see the show opting for Roger.

Roger and Young Ian have formed a bond quickly. However, he has also formed a deep bond with Brianna, so I could see him turning to her, too.

3. What will Roger do in the past?

Roger is now resigned to remaining in the past. He’s accepted that this is where home is. So, instead of focusing on possibly getting back to the future at some point, he needs to find something to do.

There are going to be a lot of questions for Bree and Roger. Why did they return to the Ridge when Roger had a job in Boston? That would have been huge for Roger during that time. So there will need to be more lies to be told.

Then Roger is going to have to figure out what to do. How can he contribute to the past? Is it time for him to become a teacher on the Ridge? What about the minister for the Ridge? Sure, Jamie and many others are Catholics and Roger is Presbyterian, but Roger would make a great minister based on the little we’ve seen of him so far.
