2. What story will Jocasta tell?

The last two questions surround the Jocasta and Forbes story on Outlander Season 5, Episode 10. Jocasta goaded Forbes into telling the truth, revealing that he had a plan to take money from Bonnet after getting him River Run. In the end, Forbes tried to kill Jocasta but Ulysses saved her by killing Forbes.

In the promo for the next episode, Ulysses points out that he’s now a murderer. However, most people today would see his actions necessary. Sadly, this isn’t today.

Ulysses is a slave, which means his actions would be punishable by death. Jocasta is going to need a story, especially if Ulysses goes on the run to protect himself. So, what story is she going to tell when it comes to Forbes’s death?

1. Will we find out there’s more between Ulysses and Jocasta?

When Ulysses believed he had been too late, he cried. This is more than just a slave’s respect and love for his mistress. This is the love of a woman. It’s clear that there is more to these two.

Those who have read the books know the story. What I’m curious about is whether that story will play out throughout Outlander from this point? Will his connection to Jocasta finally be told?

There hasn’t really been a need for it from a TV point of view until this point. However, his emotions could be explained as a man with love and respect for the woman who has treated him well for so long; for the woman who has given him a place to call home in a way.

I would like to see more on the slave point of view. It’s time that this story was told from the slaves’ side. So far, Outlander has overlooked it or explained it through the eyes of the white heroes, and that does need to stop. There probably isn’t much time for it with two episodes to go, but it’s something to cover in Season 6.
