5 big questions after Outlander Season 5, Episode 10
4. Who will the next big villain be?
With Stephen Bonnet gone, it opens up the world for a new villain. There needs to be a villain in a story like this. Whether book or TV, villains help to create the drama. Of course, a villain for the sake of being a villain doesn’t make sense, which is why I’ve loved the complexities of Black Jack Randall, Geillis Duncan, and Stephen Bonnet.
But who will come next? This is something the book readers will be able to answer. From a show-first perspective (and not really knowing how the show will adapt the next books into seasons), it’s hard to say.
All that we need to know right now is that we will get a complex villain, as usual. This is going to be a different villain to the ones that we’ve seen so far. And remember that the Revolutionary War is coming up, which creates villains out of good people.
3. Will there be any comeuppance for the man who tried to buy Bree?
One thing that did annoy me on Outlander Season 5, Episode 10 was that the man who tried to buy Brianna from Bonnet got away. Maybe it was that nobody really knew the events as the man escaped, but it couldn’t have been that difficult to figure out that Bree was being taken away by someone that wasn’t Bonnet.
So, will this man get his comeuppance? I have a feeling that it’s not going to be something we’ll see happen on the screen. We may never hear about it. However, with Bonnet being taken down and the courts knowing he was definitely selling women (and likely slaves) illegally, then those he sold to would likely have been caught.
I can hope. If it’s not said, I can believe justice was served to all.
