Brianna is sold

It turns out Bonnet isn’t just smuggling tobacco and whiskey, something that the judge of Wilmington would probably overlook. He’s also trafficking women, and Brianna is his latest woman to sell.

Bonnet already has a buyer. Just as it looks like Bree is going to be taken away and used for God knows what this man wants (but we know it can’t be good), there’s a shot. Claire, Jamie, Roger, and Young Ian have got to Brianna and Bonnet in time.

As Claire and Jamie rush to Bree, Roger rushes to take down Bonnet. Young Ian makes sure the man who was going to buy Bree goes nowhere near anyone. That man gets away, but Roger is able to knock Bonnet out so the can tie him up. The initial plan is to leave him stranded, knowing his men would eventually come for him. However, Brianna wants him to be put on trial.

Bonnet may have a lot of influence, but Governor Tryon still owes them for the mess at Alamance. He may be in New York, but he still has influence in North Carolina, so they decide to petition him to push for Bonnet’s arrest and conviction.

We end with Bonnet being executed. He is to die by drowning, which we all now know is his greatest fear. However, Brianna decides to shoot him in the head, killing him instantly. Is it mercy or just to make sure he’s dead? That’s something Roger wants to know but Bree doesn’t give an answer. Does she even know herself?
