We have the images for Outlander Season 5, Episode 8, giving us a hint of things to expect. The images confirm one thing: Lord John Grey is definitely back.
There was some debate about the promo for “Famous Last Words.” When Bree is stood on the porch of the Big House, there’s a figure of a man behind her. The debate among fans was whether this was Lord John Grey or Roger. My gut was Lord John Grey, and from the images, it looks like that is the case after all.
It’s not surprising that Lord John Grey is back. After all, he’ll be there to support and comfort Brianna. They are friends after everything at River Run during Season 4.
He’d also be there for Jamie. While Jamie and Roger weren’t close, Jamie will feel some sense of regret and guilt for everything that’s happened to Roger. After all, Jamie was the one that let Roger head to Murtagh to deliver the message about the Battle of Alamance.
The images also give us a look at the family grieving. It’s clear that Bree is going to spend some time at the cabin, as Claire and Jamie are there trying to help deal with a few things. Claire will know Bree will close in on herself and Claire will want to make both Bree is looking after herself.
There’s also the fact that Brianna is going to get a grant for land from Governor Tryon. The man wants to buy an apology, although I’d argue that in this case, he possibly has nothing to apologize for since he ordered the hanging of the Regulators. It wasn’t his fault that people mistook Roger for a Regulator.

Meanwhile, there are images of Claire, Jamie, and Jemmy walking through the woods. At some point in Outlander Season 5, Episode 8, tehre’s going to be some sort of danger in the woods. Jamie tells Claire to take Jemmy back to the cabin. These images could be from that scene. What do you think is going to happen?

There’s one image that stands out from the rest because it involves one of the side characters. Jocasta Cameron (now Innes) is the focus of this image. Jocasta is grieving the loss of Murtagh, even if they weren’t man and wife. That’s likely what this photo is taken from.
This is going to be a heartbreaking episode yet again. What else is new when it comes to this show? We’re used to it, aren’t we?
