Outlander Season 5: A couple of videos to keep you entertained this weekend

While we wait for a new episode of Outlander Season 5, there are a couple of videos about previous events. Hopefully, they give you some entertainment.

As we continue with lockdown, many of you will be getting ready for a new episode of Outlander Season 5. You’ll need to mentally prepare yourself for this and have tissues at the ready. There’s a lot of heartbreak to come, but there are a couple of videos to keep you entertained for the weekend until then.

Both of these videos have been released by STARZ. They give Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan a chance to talk about two specific scenes they have filmed; two scenes that the other isn’t involved in.

First up is Balfe talking about the tonsillectomy with the twins. This is one of the bloodiest surgeries a doctor will do, so it took a lot of practice and a lot of effects to get it all right. Balfe didn’t just have to hope that she got the procedure right, though.

Many of you will know that Balfe gets support from Dr. Claire—a real doctor who works as a consultant on the series. Dr. Claire talked Balfe through the surgery, helping with the rehearsal time.

The second video was Heughan talking about that scene at the end of Outlander Season 5, Episode 5. It’s the moment Knox learns that Jamie was a prisoner at Ardsmuir and is related to Murtagh. It’s clear that Jamie has been playing both sides and Knox has to tell someone about this.

Of course, Jamie can’t let word get out. He kills a man to protect his family, and it’s something that will play on Jamie’s mind. After all, Jamie and Knox could have got along had it not been for the current situation.
