Jamie and his men headed to Hillsborough in Outlander Season 5, Episode 5. There was a lot going on, with an immediate unwelcoming feel as they got there. At the same time, Jamie had to make some big decisions.

It’s time to start looking back at the episode with the best character moments. And I will start with Jamie, like I always do. He is the King of Men, after all. He also had some major moments that would have worked against his conscience but were necessary for him to keep his oath.

Here are my three favorite Jamie moments from Outlander Season 5, Episode 3.

3. Not saying anything about Ardsmuir right away

When Jamie learned that Knox was looking for the records for Ardsmuir, he decided to keep quiet. After all, there was a chance that Knox wouldn’t get the list of names. There was a chance that he could avoid the entire situation. What was the point in bringing up Ardsmuir if he could avoid it?

Sadly, that didn’t happen. Jamie decided to come clean the moment the list was delivered. After all, there was no avoiding it at this point.

2. Sacrificing Knox

It wouldn’t say Jamie killed Knox. It was more of a sacrifice to protect Jamie, his family, and his tenants. Jamie has a duty to all of them, and he’s made an oath to protect them. This is a man who will always stand by his oaths.

He didn’t want to kill Knox. After all, Knox wasn’t a bad guy. He was a man who just wanted to do what he believed was the right thing, and taking down those terrorizing towns was the right thing. However, he also had some negative views about people not being able to change, which put Jamie in direct danger.

1. Taking Adso home

After climbing out of the window of the smokey room, Jamie came across a cat. He wasted no time in scooping up the stray and taking him home to Claire.

We knew Adso was coming up at some point, but that the way Jamie found the cat had to change. It was the perfect change for the situation and continues to show the heart that Jamie has. He couldn’t leave the cat to starve alone and knew that it would be the perfect gift for Claire. Always thinking of Claire in even the most intense situations.
