3 best Brianna moments from Outlander Season 5, Episode 3

Brianna wasn’t in Outlander Season 5, Episode 3 all that much, but she still had some standout moments. Here are my favorite three from Free Will.

Outlander Season 5, Episode 3 mostly focused on Claire and Jamie at the Beardsley homestead. However, Brianna did get an important moment towards the start. That important moment brought three excellent parts for her character.

We got to see Brianna as a woman being left behind. Since she doesn’t have the medical skills and isn’t a man, she has to remain at Fraser’s Ridge with Marsali. But that doesn’t mean she likes it happening or that it will remain that way forever. After all, Brianna has some knowledge of things to come.

With all that in mind, here are my three favorite moments from Outlander Season 5, Episode 3.

3. Reminding Claire it’s not a war

As she says goodbye to Claire, we get Claire’s memories of the past. She thinks back (or forward?) to World War II and the goodbye with Frank. I love that we see mother and daughter still connecting over the man who raised Bree for 20 years.

However, this is also an important moment for Bree. She reminds Claire that it’s not a war. While she doesn’t know everything about the Regulators, she does know that it’s not the war that is to come soon.

2. Her goodbye with Roger

Bree and Roger have a great secret language with things from their own time. By coming back in the early 70s, they have some great memories of pop culture that even Claire wouldn’t necessarily get. They have this connection that the don’t have with others.

We continually get to see that this season. In Outlander Season 5, Episode 3 we saw it with a Scarlett O’Hara reference.

1. The chances of bonding with Marsali

Finally, we get the hint of things to come. I’ve hoped throughout Droughtlander that we’ll see some sort of bonding between Marsali and Brianna. With them both at the Ridge, it makes sense.

Claire asks Bree to help Marsali with her reading. It’s just a short interaction, but there’s so much hope for me with this.
