5 best Claire moments from Outlander Season 5, Episode 3
2. Admitting she wants Brianna and Roger to go back
As she fears for the baby, Claire naturally starts thinking about Brianna, Roger, and Jemmy. Is this really the right time and place for them? Claire tells Jamie that she wants them to go back to the 20th century.
It’s not all too surprising she brought it up at this point. It’s the only time they’ve had the chance to talk about this. Of course, Jamie took a selfish route in saying that he wants them to stay, but that doesn’t mean he can’t understand Claire’s thoughts. She’s willing to sacrifice time with her daughter and grandchild for the sake of their safeties.
1. Agreeing to do what must be done
At the very end, Jamie asked Claire to do one thing for him. Should he suffer a stroke and be left like Mr. Beardsley, he would like Claire to put him out of his misery. As Jamie put it, they would do it for a dog. Most animals are euthanized to prevent them suffering, so why not humans?
Claire doesn’t quite agree. She says “I’ll do what must be done,” which Jamie takes as an agreement. However, her wording stands out to me. Would she do it if she had to?
