5 biggest questions after Outlander Season 5, Episode 3

Outlander Season 5, Episode 3 brought us a Stephen King-style horror episode. Here are the five biggest questions after the events.

Wow! What a dark and twisty episode Outlander Season 5, Episode 3 was. It offered a storyline straight from the book (with a few, very minor changes) and delivered the Stephen King-style horror that we had been warned about.

Now it’s time to look ahead at what events from the episode mean for the next episodes. Here are my five biggest questions from the episode.

5. Can Roger lead the men?

Roger was left in charge of the men. Jamie ordered him to head to Brownsville, and anyone who has read the books will know of the trouble there. Will Roger be able to lead the men and make the right decisions? I guess this is something we’ll find out in Episode 4.

4. What will happen with the Beardsley twins?

The Beardsley twins were left with the militia men during Episode 3. Jamie wanted to do everything by the book to make sure he wouldn’t lose Josiah and Keziah because of the indentured papers. Now that Jamie has the papers, what will happen with the twins? Will they head back to the Ridge or are they joining the militia? Again, we’ll quickly find out in Episode 4, but I’ll give you a hint: they’re too young for the militia.

3. Is that it for Fanny?

Fanny Beardsley ran off, leaving her daughter with Claire and Jamie. We know that the baby has been left in good hands, but I can’t help but think about Fanny. What about her?

She’s postpartum, somewhere in the Carolina wilderness. It’s not safe for her. Is this the last we’ll see of her or will we find out what’s happened to her in a later part of the story?

2. What will Claire do with the baby?

Claire took the baby and allowed Jamie to do what needed to be done. Even as a doctor, she knew that this was Mr. Beardsley’s choice, and he made what he thought was right for him. So now, Claire and Jamie have a baby. But they can’t take a baby into a war, can they? What is going to happen to this little girl?

1. What are the ramifications from Claire’s medical notes?

Fergus needed paper to write a note on. Instead of looking at what he picked up, he quickly grabbed a piece of paper from Claire’s surgery with a quill and got to work. Big mistake! We know he’s picked up one of Claire’s leaflets with medical advice. How could that come back to haunt her?
