5 best Roger moments from the Outlander Season 5 premiere
2. Giving Jocasta a piece of his mind
One of the funniest moments comes from Roger’s meeting with Jocasta the day after the wedding. Jocasta makes it clear that she never expected Roger to come back. Nor does she think Roger will stick around.
It quickly riles Roger up. He isn’t afraid to give her an earful about what she can do with her money. For the viewers, it’s quickly clear that this was something Jocasta wanted to happen, but Roger didn’t know that. For him, it’s a chance to stand up to someone with money. While he doesn’t have money, it doesn’t mean he can’t offer Brianna and Jemmy anything. He has time, and he’s working with that.
1. The blood oath
After this moment, Roger heads straight to the cabin and performs the blood oath. It’s something that came from “Drums of Autumn,” and something that I’d been looking forward to seeing. I’m so glad that it was added into the Outlander Season 5 premiere.
While it doesn’t have the same power as it did in the fourth novel, it’s still an important moment. Roger makes a promise in front of Brianna. No matter what, Jemmy is his son. Even if Bonnet is the biological father, Roger is claiming this boy as his own. And that’s what really matters.
