4. The opener with Jamie

The Outlander Season 5 sneak peek gave us a look at what we could expect between Jamie and Roger. While it was clear that it would be a great moment, we didn’t know much more about other premiere moments. Now that I’ve seen the episode in full, I do think it’s a moment that stands out.

Not only does it give us a look at Jamie and Roger’s relationship, but it gives us an insight into Roger’s thoughts about staying in the past. He knows he’s not cut out for the time period. It’s dangerous and he just doesn’t have the skills. He shows trust in Jamie by opening up to him about it.

3. Serenading Brianna

After the wedding, Roger and Brianna have the night to themselves. Claire and Jamie take the baby for the night, allowing the newlyweds to fully consummate their relationship. But Roger clearly senses that Brianna is nervous.

We get this moment where he sits her down and serenades her. It’s a beautiful moment, as Roger makes it clear that he doesn’t just want Brianna’s body. He wants her heart, and he wants her to be happy in this life with him.
