Outlander fans get a sneak peek of Claire and Jamie in Season 5

We’ve had a sneak peek of Murtagh and Young Jamie and one of Jamie and Roger. Now, Outlander fans get a sneak peek of Claire and Jamie in Season 5.

It’s Outlander week across various programs this week, getting us ready for the Season 5 premiere. Good Morning America kicked things off with an interview with Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. Within that interview, fans got a sneak peek of Claire and Jamie in the premiere.

We know Brianna and Roger’s wedding is happening. That certainly isn’t a spoiler, with promotional material making it very clear that the two are starting a family together the 18th century way, with a few 20th century twists thrown in. It’s not surprising that Bree’s parents are ready for the wedding.

In the sneak peek, Claire and Jamie discuss Roger. Unsurprisingly, Jamie isn’t happy with the choice of man, uncertain about whether Roger really loves Brianna. It’s an understandable thought considering Roger didn’t immediately return to Brianna. Now, I’m on Roger’s side, here, but I can see Jamie’s point of view.

However, Claire has the view that everything is in the past. Roger is now here, ready to be with Brianna and Jemmy.

It’s this discussion that makes it clear one particular moment from “Drums of Autumn” is required in Season 5. We need to see Roger make that blood oath and claim Jemmy as his own. It would put many minds at ease, especially Jamie.

However, we know that tensions between Jamie and Roger will continue for a while. The two are men from different times, with different ideas about how to provide for their families. They have different skills and Roger is still trying to find his worth in the 18th century. This sneak peek of Claire and Jamie emphasizes the tensions.
