Caitriona Balfe on The Late Late Show: Why nothing about Outlander?

Caitriona Balfe got a guest spot on The Late Late Show with James Corden. However, it wasn’t to talk about Outlander. Why was that the case?

The Outlander actors are spending time doing promotion right now, but it’s not all for Outlander. Caitriona Balfe was on The Late Late Show with James Corden, but sadly, wasn’t there to talk about Claire Fraser. Instead, she was there to promote Ford v. Ferrari.

Why was that when the movie is already out? Isn’t the promotion done for that now? Outlander Season 5 premieres on Feb. 16, so surely, it would have been best to talk about that.

Well, the promotion for Ford v. Ferrari is still important. The movie has been nominated for four Oscars, so now is the time to continue pushing that promotion, keeping the movie in the eyes of those who will be voting for the Academy Awards.

While we all know Balfe for Outlander, the movie is a bigger deal in Hollywood right now. Naturally, that was going to be the topic of conversation with the Oscars coming up very soon. Of course, with the topic of the movie came the stories of Balfe’s driving habits, something many Outlander fans have heard about a few times now.

Outlander did come up. When Caitriona Balfe was introduced to the stage, James Corden did mention the premiere date. There would have likely been more time to talk about both movie and show had Balfe been given more time to chat. However, Sting was the top-billed celebrity on the episode.

Our show still isn’t quite there as a major drama in the United States, or even around the globe. The show is certainly growing and the fandom is going strong, but it’s taking time for the bigger networks to realize just how popular and noteworthy it is. Hopefully, we’ll see our stars and the show getting the recognition they deserve in the near future.
