Outlander Season 5 photo: Does the behind the scenes photo reveal anything?

There’s a new behind the scenes photo from Outlander Season 5. What is it and what could it tell us about the new season? Does it reveal anything?

One thing STARZ has done to keep Outlander in our focus is to reveal some behind the scenes photos. As we get closer to the premiere date, I wondered if we’d get anything new. It looks like the behind the scenes photos are still going, and the most recent one is of Caitriona Balfe and Sophie Skelton.

They’re both in costume, so this is clearly between takes. The question for many is whether it gives anything away about Outlander Season 5? Does it tell us anything that we should expect?

There’s really not that much to take from it. Claire is dressed in the same outfit that we saw in a recent image with the pistol tucked in her belt. It’s likely that she’s getting ready to ride around Fraser’s Ridge, looking for people to join Jamie’s militia. If the show follows the books, Jamie and Claire will head to the Beardsleys while Fergus and Roger head to the Browns.

Brianna remains behind. There are multiple reasons she would have done this. And I get the sense from the BTS photo that Brianna and Claire are having a heartfelt moment before Claire rides off with Jamie.

We’ve seen them separated by distance before, with Claire riding off with Jamie in search for someone. This was in Season 4 under very different circumstances. This time, Roger is with them. He and Bree are married and Roger is actually helping with the building of the militia.

Just in the background, it’s possible to see some people in costumes and horses. It certainly looks like they’re getting ready to ride off somewhere. It also shows that we’ll get to see more people around Claire and Jamie’s home.

One thing is for certain. We get to see just how close the two actresses are. It’s important to have a cast that gets along, and every time I see Balfe and Skelton together it’s like Balfe has taken Skelton under her wing in a maternal way. I love it!
