5 reasons to watch The Witcher to get through Droughtlander
4. It takes concentration
You don’t want a TV show that you can just race through, do you? Of course not! You want something that is going to take up time. Something that makes you invest in the world. The Witcher will do that.
The series involves a lot of dialogue. There are three storylines happening at once and you need to pay close attention to them to understand each one individually and how they all link together. Once you think you have it, the show will throw you a new clue that destroys everything you thought you understood.
And this is a good thing. I love shows that keep me on my toes and make me think. This is one of those shows.
While there’s only one season, that’s not going to be a problem during Droughtlander. You’ll need to watch the eight episodes at least a second time to understand it all.
3. There are some powerful women
Despite being set in a Dark Ages type of England, some of the strongest characters are women. This is seen with Queen Calanthe in the very first episode, but you’ll also get it from Tissaia, Yennefer, and even Ciri. There are certain types of creatures that are run by women, and the most powerful mages tend to be the females.
And we’re not just talking about physical power. The female characters are strong in spirit. Some are products of their upbringing, while others learn to become strong due to their situation. They are certainly characters you’ll want to see succeed.
