For All Mankind Season 2 filming is already underway
Caught the season finale of For All Mankind and now need more? The second season is already underway, Outlander’s Maril Davis confirms.
Outlander‘s Ron D. Moore and Maril Davis are hard at work. While the filming of Outlander Season 5 is over, they’re still in production on another show. For All Mankind Season 2 is currently in the middle of filming.
For All Mankind just wrapped up its first season, leaving plenty of questions and exciting storylines to come. It’s an alternate history series set during the time of the space race, and is a passion project for Moore. Airing on Apple TV Plus, the series offers a look at what could have been had the Soviets got to the moon first and the U.S. continued to develop its space program.
Many viewers have tuned in, with the show landing a second season order just after the first two episodes aired. It was clear that Moore had done it again in the sci-fi genre. After all, you’ll know him for Battlestar Gallactica, which has been hailed as good as Star Trek!
There were also many Outlander fans tuning in to see what Moore would offer in this new series. Unlike Outlander, For All Mankind isn’t based on a book. It’s original through and through, focusing on dreams of what could have been. Many fans of Claire and Jamie wanted to see how the production and storytelling could differ, and not just because of genre (fantasy vs. sci-fi).
Now, For All Mankind Season 2 filming is underway. The production is taking a break for the holiday season but will resume in the new year. There’s hope that the second season will air at the end of 2020, but it’s possible that it could be held until 2021 if more time is needed to create. We don’t know what the timeline for Apple TV Plus shows will be like just yet.
