Jon Tarcy has been cast in the role of Isaiah Morton in Outlander Season 5. Who is the actor to get an idea of what to expect?
Jon Tarcy will play Isaiah Morton in Outlander Season 5. Sometimes, we like to get to know the actor first, understanding a little more about background to get an idea of what their performances could be like. That’s what this post is all about.
I won’t share anything about Isaiah Morton’s story from “The Fiery Cross” in this post. Instead, the focus is on the actor, Tarcy.
Tarcy doesn’t have a long list of productions he’s been in, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be worthy of the role. After all, he will have auditioned against many other talented actors.
Something that does stand out for Tarcy is that he’s done a number of Shakespearean productions. He’s not afraid to take on difficult subject matter and he is skilled as maintaining a character throughout his time on a stage. Stage acting is vastly different to screen, with the lack of takes and eyes always on a character looking for facial expressions.
By doing Shakespearean productions, he’s used to acting as a character from a different time period. He’s used to holding himself in the way that would be expected of the time, and he doesn’t mind the different costumes.
Since he doesn’t have too much experience, it could be useful for the series. There’s no ego to deal with (that’s been a positive thing about Outlander from the beginning) and he’ll be there to learn. He can be molded to work with the role that has been created and developed.
It’s going to be exciting to see what he can offer. For now, though, you can follow Jon Tarcy on Twitter, where he regularly retweets updates about Outlander.
What do you hope to see from Tarcy in the fifth season? What are you excited to see adapted from “The Fiery Cross?” Share your thoughts in the comments below.
