On Dec. 16, 2018, Brianna and Roger went down the rabbit hole. Here’s a look back at the Outlander Season 4, Episode 7 ratings.

On this day in history, Outlander Season 4, Episode 7 aired for the first time. Titled “Down the Rabbit Hole,” we got an episode that was purely focused on Roger and Brianna, as they made their way through the past. How would the Live + Same Day ratings look?

TV Series Finale shows the ratings from the past, and they’re certainly nothing to grumble at. This Roger and Brianna-focused episode saw a tick up in both the audience and demo. In fact, both figures were at a season-high for up to that point in the episodes. It was certainly a sign that many were interested in Brianna and Roger’s tales.

Both characters found themselves separated for the entire episode, with Brianna not even realizing that Roger was just a short time behind her. She focused on an internal journey, while the show had to make up a story to fit in with Laura Donnelly not being available for Season 4 filming. Her journey was mostly about leaving Frank behind, something that she came to terms with at the end.

Meanwhile, Roger went on a journey of self-discovery, realizing how much he was willing to put his life on the line. Hitching a ride from Stephen Bonnet, Roger learned what the life of a pirate was like, and how much he had to rely on luck. It would start a tremulous journey for Roger during his time in the past.

One thing this episode did show was that not including Claire and Jamie in an episode wasn’t disastrous. With Outlander adapting to being more than just about the couple, fans were still intrigued to see the story play out.
