Australian fans got a bit of a shock on Twitter when Foxtel promoted the premiere of Outlander Season 5. Just what date exactly will the show arrive?

Outlander Season 5 is coming soon. In the U.S. the premiere is Feb. 16, which means it’s either that date or the day after in a lot of other places around the world. Australian fans were sure of that until a case of a bad emoji choice and no clarification happened on Twitter.

Foxtel announced that the fifth season was on its way. However, there was a specific emoji that caused some confusion. Clearly just wanting to use a calendar to indicate that fans should put the date on their own calendars, fans were quick to spot the Mar. 21 date.

It didn’t help that Foxtel only showed the date in a clip, which isn’t available to view in all locations around the world. And not everyone will watch the short videos. The clarification would have been better in the tweet itself, especially when scrolling quickly!

Did that mean Outlander Season 5 wouldn’t premiere until a month later? Were Australian fans going to have to deal with an extra month of Droughtlander?

Foxtel took to Twitter to clarify the mixup in a few replies to worrying fans. There isn’t going to be an extra wait at all.

Outlander Season 5 will premiere in Australia on Feb. 17. Yes, this is a day later than those in the U.S., but not when you consider time zones. In fact, Feb. 17 in Australia is still Feb. 16 in the United States. Odd, huh? So, you’re not going to get it that much later!
