4. Standing up for what they want

Okay, so this wasn’t a happy moment, but it was a strong moment for the couple. During Outlander Season 4, Episode 3, the two have their first major argument that leads to them splitting up. Roger wants to get married before having sex, while Brianna wants to be free but lose her virginity.

Something this moment shows is their passion. It shows that they’re willing to fight for something they believe in. When that comes to them having the same views, that’s great. When it comes to being against each other, it’s not great for them.

This is a scene where I understand both of their views. It’s also a scene that hints at things to come. Roger is a traditional man of his time. Brianna is one of the modern young women. Their personalities clash but they’re willing to compromise at times.

3. The minister’s cat

We did get to see the two spend some good times together at the start of Season 4. That came with the drive to the Gathering location, as they played the game “The Minister’s Cat.” Until Outlander, it was a game I’d never heard of, but that wasn’t the point of it anyway.

This was a chance to see how the two are similar. It was a chance to see them happy and show how they work. We got to know them as a couple for a short period of time. It made me wish we had more time with them in the happy, courting stages of their relationship.
