6. Choosing to stay for Brianna
When he had the chance to step through the stones and go back to his own time, Roger held back. He decided to return to the Mohawks, remaining in the past in the hope that he’d get to Brianna.
In a way, it was an idiotic decision. He could have got to his own time, healed, and then headed back to the past for Brianna. Just a couple of weeks would have been enough time for the Mohawks to move on and for Roger to get supplies and return to Brianna. It’s not like he’d have to travel the ocean again knowing where the new set of stones were.
But his decision to stay showed his love. Love is blind and patient, and that’s definitely the case for Roger!
5. Vowing to return to Bree
After being sold to the Mohawks, Roger had an idea that Jamie was the one to beat him. He knew that he was close to Fraser’s Ridge, so put the pieces of the puzzle together. What he didn’t realize was that Jamie believed Roger to be Brianna’s rapist. He didn’t even know Brianna had been raped.
Outlander Season 4 delivered a beautiful moment for Roger, as he told a fellow prisoner that he would return to his wife. The fact that he called Brianna his wife made it clear that he held his vow close to his heart.
