2. No heavy material to worry about

Outlander is packed with sexual content. There’s plenty of language and there are moments that many Sassenachs can’t watch again. That’s certainly not the case with The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Okay, there is some strong language. However, there’s no explicit material. You won’t have anything like Wentworth Prison to watch. There’s no need to gear yourself up for the material on a second watch.

And for those who find some of the sexual content uncomfortable, there’s no of that. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t have the chemistry between the characters, but there’s not all the sex. While that isn’t a problem for all, it is a problem for some (and there’s nothing wrong with that!).

1. Strong female characters

One thing that Outlander offers us is a mixture of strong female leads. Whether it’s Claire, Brianna, Jenny, or even Geillis in her own way, we get to see women that we can gain strength from and even gain some inspiration from.

The Spy Who Dumped Me has two lead females. But they’re not the two that I’m mostly thinking of when it comes to the strong female characters. Gillian Anderson’s character, Wendy, stands out as someone to gain inspiration from. Despite the comedy, there are some good morals and some great character development.
