15 best Claire moments throughout Outlander Season 4
4. Reuniting with Brianna
While many people were excited to see Brianna and Jamie meet for the first time, I couldn’t wait to see Claire’s reaction to Brianna being in the past. This was the reunion I’d been waiting for and I loved seeing this shocked expression on Claire’s face. So many questions ran through her mind, and she didn’t know whether to ask them or just to hug her daughter.
Claire never wanted Brianna to come to the past. At the same time, she wanted to see her daughter again. It was a tearful reunion, full of love and hope.
Of course, there were also the looks between Claire and Jamie. Claire was happy that Jamie had finally got the chance to meet his daughter, even if she knew that Brianna came through the stones for a bad reason.
3. Opening up to Lord John Grey
When it comes to moments that were adapted from the book, one of my favorites was Claire’s time with Lord John Grey. After contracting the measles, he had to be cared for by Claire. This gave the two a chance to talk and bond.
Both Claire and John were open and honest about things. For John, some of it was due to his high fever, but he didn’t pretend to not mean anything. They were able to have the frank chat that they desperately needed to get rid of as much of the jealous as possible.
Claire finally understood more about John than she’d ever been able to do before. She understood how he would be in a marriage that was more out of duty than love, unable to give every part of him. This was something Claire had done with Frank for the sake of Brianna.
Their honesty helped to build some sort of bond between them. While they’re still not friends by any means, they have a mutual respect and trust. And that’s important for future storylines.
