2. Claire is far too trusting for her own good

It surprises me every time I watch Outlander Season 1, Episode 14. Claire is just too trusting. You would have thought after all this time, she would have realized that everyone looks out for themselves.

Why would she even consider trusting the gypsies to stop singing the song and doing the dance? Why would she believe that they’d willingly give up just because she asked? It makes no sense for how smart she is.

I’m glad Murtagh calls her out on it. It’s just a shame she doesn’t actually pay attention.

1. Everything Dougal had planned had been hinted to us throughout the season

Up to this point, we knew that Dougal had been planning something. He felt threatened by Jamie but many only thought he was just concerned about his future position at Castle Leoch. However, we should have been paying more attention to the between the lines of conversation.

It took a rewatch to really appreciate the build up to this moment. I finally got the foreshadowed moments of Dougal wanting more from Jamie, of him trying to get the Fraser lands.
