4. Claire willing to do what it takes to find Jamie

Claire is willing to keep the Lallybroch people safe, while also doing what it takes to find Jamie. She’s willing to go out on her own to track him – although deep down knows that it isn’t possible, that it would be a suicide mission.

However, it’s when dealing with the courier that she shows her willingness to do what it takes. She holds a pistol to the man’s head and watches Jenny torture him. Just as she realizes that she can’t let him go, she’s willing to kill him. Fortunately, she doesn’t have to go through with it but it definitely shows her love and devotion to her man.

3. Murtagh knows there’ll be a next time

Murtagh manages to track Claire and Jenny. They don’t exactly worry about being followed, after all. But it’s not that that stands out. We get a chance to see his knowledge of the family.

He knows this isn’t the first time Jamie will get himself into a scrape. It’s not the last time Claire and Jenny will go after him. And if it was the other way around, he knows that Jamie would do whatever it took to save either one of the women.

Murtagh isn’t stupid or naive. We get a chance to see how loyal he is and how much he’ll do for those he loves.
