5 best moments from Outlander Season 1, Episode 14
2. Seeing Claire convince everyone to help save Jamie
At the end of the episode, Claire and Murtagh meet with Dougal. After some convincing and negotiating, he finally relented. However, there was a catch. He wouldn’t force anyone to go with him.
That led to Claire and Murtagh going to see Dougal’s men. Of course, Rupert and Angus didn’t want to go to help at first. It would be a suicide mission. It was Willie who helped convince everyone by agreeing to go for Jamie. He was the first to agree and, of course, Rupert and Angus couldn’t possibly say no after that.
However, you could tell that they felt guilty for saying no in the first place. They knew Jamie would come for them if they needed him.
1. Watching Claire and Murtagh’s bond grow
While I don’t love Outlander Season 1, Episode 14, I do love an element of the search. We get to see Claire and Murtagh’s bond grow. This is something the novel didn’t get a chance to give us and is something that I love from the show’s adaptation.
There’s that moment when Murtagh tells Claire the story of the bracelets. She has no idea who the woman that got away was at first and then it all clicks into place. It’s no wonder Murtagh has been so loyal to Jamie throughout the years. This confession also gives us the chance to see why Murtagh is so loyal in the future and why he gets so angry when he knows Jamie and Claire are hiding something.
