15. Sending Fergus to help Murtagh

There would have been a time that Jamie would have gone to save Murtagh himself. However, the moment in Outlander Season 4, Episode 8 showed not only Jamie’s maturity, but also his trust in a few select others.

Rather than try to warn Murtagh about the trap himself, he decided to send Fergus to do it. He showed that trust he’s gained for Fergus over the years – putting the life of his godfather into the hands of his adopted son.

This also showed Jamie’s ability to plan ahead. He knew there wasn’t time for him to get out there and back before Claire finished the surgery. So, he used the strategic brain he has.

14. The reunion with Jocasta

When Claire and Jamie decided they were going to make a life for themselves in the Colonies, they knew there was one place they would need to go to start: Jocasta Cameron’s. This reunion was everything for me. Jocasta couldn’t see, but she knew who she was holding onto – and she didn’t need Ulysses to tell her.

There was an emotion between them that made it clear they missed each other. Jocasta definitely missed her family. But we got this chance to see the respect and adoration Jamie had for his aunt – the only living member of Ellen’s family remaining.

13. Allowing Roger to beat him up (but also knowing when to stop)

When it came to the end of the series, there was a moment that I adored. Roger pummeled into Jamie for everything that had happened. And Jamie simply took it. He knew that he’d been the cause of Roger’s torturous journey and pain.

Yet, Jamie didn’t just take it all. After a while, he knew that he would have to bring a stop for it. Roger had dished out some sort of “revenge” and now it was time to move onto the rest of the situation. There was so much to cover and it was time to get into the details.
