5 best moments from Outlander Season 1, Episode 13
2. Hearing more about Ian Murray
Speaking of Ian Murray, I adored that we got to know more about the man during Outlander Season 1, Episode 13. This moment takes place at the dinner table. While Jamie is pretending to be Jenny’s cousin, Jamie McTavish, he also uses his past experience in France with Ian to help show his closeness to the family.
We get to find out more about Ian’s time during the war. While we’d heard a little in the past, mostly about his injury, this was a chance to see his friendship with Jamie.
1. Jenny and Claire’s moment on the steps
When Ian and Jamie joined The Watch because they were forced into it, Claire and Jenny had time to bond. First came the delivery of Margaret but then the two had a chance to bond as they waited for Jamie and Ian to return.
We got a chance to see what could have been. After initially not liking Claire, Jenny accepted that Claire was her sister-in-law. The two become sisters, offering something that neither of them had had in the past. This was a chance for both to open up.
Claire has needed female relationships in the series. This is when the show (and arguably the books) has always been at its strongest outside of her bonds with Jamie and Brianna. I adored getting a chance to see it during this episode.
