2. The red dress

After finally getting an invite to the French Court, Louise had a dress made for Claire. It was an absolutely beautiful dress, but it was the expressions on both Jamie and Murtagh’s face when she showed off the dress that she helped to design.

Jamie’s reaction was perfect, showing that he was a man of the time. More of then than not, we view him as ahead of his time but when it comes to fashion, he’s always been aghast at women showing off their skin. This episode brought that out, as he commented about how he could see down to Claire’s naval.

1. Everything at the French Court

Everything in the French Court was perfect. It’s hard to choose just one moment from it. I adored the introduction of Annalise – although that part could have been explained much better than it actually was in the series – and the way Claire and Jamie attempted to fit into the upper class society.

However, I do think my favorite moment was when Jamie and Murtagh attended to see the king get ready. At this point, he was attempting to pass stools on the toilet and Jamie had the chance to offer a tip for the King of France. He gave the tip of porridge. It may be for “peasants” in France, but it really is perfect for the bowels.
