4. Dougal putting the option towards Jamie

Throughout the episode, we got to see flashes of everything that led up to the wedding day, including the wedding itself. One of my favorite moments was Dougal putting the plan to Jamie, making it clear that there wasn’t really a choice.

We’d already known by this point that Jamie ad agreed, but this was a chance to see him agree to the wedding. His doubts weren’t for him. When he said if he and Claire married, it wasn’t about him but about her.

This moment has one of my favorite lines, summing up why this scene is so perfect. It’s all about showing Jamie’s honor.

3. Jamie and Claire getting to know each other

Claire was understandably nervous on her wedding night. She still had a lot of doubts and all this was more to save her life than because of want. So, she decided to use it as time to get to know each other. And that meant getting to learn more about the Fraser clan.

Jamie was open and honest. After the last six episodes of keeping some of the information close to his chest, we got a moment where he could finally open up. He could share about how his parents eloped and how he looked up to both of them.

This “moment” was actually a selection of scenes sprinkled throughout Outlander Season 1, Episode 7. However, they all clump together as they’re all focused on the same thing: the two getting to know each other.
