5 Outlander episodes to watch instead of Super Bowl 53

2. A. Malcolm

Jump ahead to Outlander Season 3 now and skip to Episode 6. “A. Malcolm” was the episode that fans had highly anticipated. While it’s not the strongest episode of the third season, in my opinion, it is a good one.

After finding out that Jamie was still alive, Claire finds out as much as she can during the first half of the third season. However, she runs into a dead end and leaves Scotland, with Roger being the one to continue the research. Sure enough, he finds a clue and Claire finally has hope that Jamie will be around and he will still want her.

Cut to Claire stepping through the stones and in “A. Malcom” the two come face to face. Jamie realizes that it isn’t all a dream and we get this beautiful dance of nerves, as both are clearly conscious that they are 20 years older than when they last saw each other.

There’s a beautiful talk of all children, of what they’ve been doing, and of plans for the future. Much of the episode mirrors “The Wedding,” bringing in the romance, the sensuality, and the excitement.

This isn’t just an episode for when you’re skipping Super Bowl 53. This is one of the best episodes to rewatch while you’re getting through Droughtlander.
