Brianna faced her rapist in Outlander Season 4, Episode 12. Here are her best moments throughout the episode.
While Lord John Grey didn’t want to take her, Brianna headed to Wilmington to face her rapist in Outlander Season 4, Episode 12. As we get ready to see her final scenes in Season 4, it’s time to look back over the episode for the standout moments.
Brianna certainly had plenty. A woman out of time and still learning plenty about the world, she’s had a lot of growing up to do. This episode showed her as a strong-willed and confident woman, possibly marking a turning point for her. Here are my five favorite moments from “Providence.”
5. Bonding with Lord John Grey
In Wilmington, Brianna and Lord John Grey get the chance to bond further. This is an important moment for the two characters, as they have a long friendship moving on from this. Will they get married? I’ll leave that spoiler-free for those who haven’t read the books.
One thing I loved was the way Brianna smiled up at John and allowed him to escort her into the jail to see Bonnet. She didn’t want him with her in the actual jail cell, but she leaned on him in the run up to this point. And she said everything many of us think. John really is impossible not to like.

4. Protecting Murtagh and the jailer

At the very end, Fergus manages to get Murtagh free from the jail. Brianna is there to see it all and manages to convince John to allow them all to go free. She may not know Murtagh as well as Fergus, but he has become like family to her. This was the only person not involved in the mess that led to Roger being sold to the Mohawks.
However, it’s not just her need to protect Murtagh. She was the one to protect the jailer who had been knocked out. After all, it wasn’t the jailer’s fault that he could have ended up roasted.
3. Choosing to face Bonnet
When Brianna learned of Stephen Bonnet’s arrest, she knew what she needed to do. After reading Jamie’s letter, she knows that she can’t kill him. So, instead, she decides she wants to face him. She needs to be able to put all this behind her.
This isn’t a meeting of revenge. She didn’t want to just taunt him that she would potentially have his child and would never know it. Brianna wanted to potentially get some answers and make it clear that he would be forgotten. She wanted closure, making a mature decision.

2. Wanting to further condemn Bonnet
Before knowing that she needed to see Bonnet to gain closure, Brianna did want to further condemn him. At the beginning of Outlander Season 4, Episode 12, Brianna made it clear that she wanted to add the attack to her on the list of charges.
Rather than argue against Lord John Grey’s words of how it would shame her, she understood. Despite being a woman out of her time, she is willing to listen when she just needs to accept the ways and the judgment of the time period. I gained a lot of respect as she held her tongue since it’s not like she could change the view of others.

1. Standing up against Bonnet
In the cell, Brianna was calm and collected. We’ve seen the fiery passion come out when she’s angry, but she managed to get the closure she needed. And as Bonnet taunted her, Brianna held her own.
Bonnet being in chains likely helped give her the confidence to stand up and make her intentions clear. She wasn’t mean in her words, but truthful and the truth can hurt. She knew her way of cutting him down. As he thought part of him would live on, she made it clear that her child would never know anything about him.
