1. Discussing things she misses
When doing laundry with Brianna, Claire decides to bring up some of the things she misses from the future. At first, I wondered if it was going to be cravings she had when pregnant with Brianna since she started with food, but it did turn into a fun conversation.
As much as I’d love to hear them discuss the awkwardness of corsets or trying to wear dresses all the time, I love the way they bonded in this moment. It was simple and realistic. After all, haven’t we all wondered what we’d miss the most if we traveled through the stones?
Both were able to appreciate each others’ misses. I loved the comment about music because apart from basic medical care, I think that would be something I’d miss a lot. I also found it ironic since Claire had complained about the noise when she first came from in the 1940s.
Yet, Brianna wins the discussion. I loved seeing Claire’s face as Brianna brought up toilets that flush. Yes, modern-day plumbing would be something to miss and we know that Claire misses her baths.
The moment was also a nice reprieve from the drama of “The Deep Heart’s Core.”
