1. The emotion at the stones

Roger found a standing stone circle. Hearing the buzzing first, he was astounded to find out there was another portal through time. And as he was on the run, he realized that he had a way to protect himself. He could just go through time.

But then came the thoughts of everything he was leaving behind. As he grabbed the two gems from his pocket, he looked at them and started crying. They were for him and Brianna to go back through the stones together.

At that moment, you could see the mixture of emotions. He didn’t really want to leave Brianna behind, but at the same time, he knew he needed to for his own safety. Going back to the future would allow him to recover, get more money, and then head back through to get to Brianna.

Or maybe the mixture of emotions were because he felt like he’d failed. His focus at the start of the episode was to get back to Brianna. But now he may have been thinking about leaving her behind. After all, he likely knew that she would be safe with her parents by now.

Either way, the emotions were raw. You could see him think of all his options and finally decide it was time to go back to the future.
