3 best Jamie moments in Outlander Season 4, Episode 10
2. Opening up to Brianna
During the forest scene at the start of the episode, Brianna and Jamie had a chance to talk about rape and revenge. After Brianna realized that she could never have fought Bonnet off, she decided to ask Jamie about his time at Wentworth.
The only thing about this moment I didn’t like is that Claire hadn’t told Jamie that Brianna knew about Wentworth. In a way, this was a breach of trust, but Jamie didn’t get angry with Brianna for knowing. Instead, they were able to bond over it and share in their experiences.
It’s this moment that makes me even angrier about him jumping to conclusions that she lied about the rape. He would have known from this conversation that she really had been raped unless he thought she was an extremely good actress.
But back to this moment. Jamie had a chance to talk more about what he’d promised and how he felt after the rape — and more importantly, how he feels now. They could discuss revenge killings and what Brianna wanted to get out of killing her attacker.
He wasn’t just a father in this moment. He was a shoulder to lean on. There was no judgment in the conversation, but one of discovery and understanding.
