4. Looking over the ridge

When the family got back to Fraser’s Ridge, Brianna had a chance to see the beauty for her own eyes. This was a chance to understand why this had become their home.

One thing I adored was that Brianna shared what would happen in the future. Knowing American history, she couldn’t help but delve into the things to come and you could see her suddenly realize what she was saying.

Fortunately, Jamie knows everything. More importantly, we got this reminder that she is more like Claire than she would like to admit sometimes.

3. Opening up to Claire

While I don’t like that she asked Claire to keep a secret from Jamie, I love the moment that comes before this. Brianna opens up to her mother and shares the truth of what happened in Wilmington.

This all started because Claire was able to almost read her daughter’s mind. Claire figured out Brianna was pregnant and it was time to work out what this meant. However, Claire learned far more than she’d bargained for.

Brianna could have tried to keep a lot more a secret. Rather than admit to the baby possibly not being Roger’s, she could have left everyone believing a lie. Yet, she trusted her mother and knew it was time to finally open up about everything that happened.
