20 best Outlander moments from 2018
4. Brianna and Jamie going bee hunting
When it happened: We’re into moments mostly all from the same episode, the most recent (and this is why I left this post for New Year’s Day). Episode 9 brought Brianna to her parents, leading to a chance for them to bond. One of those moments was Jamie and Brianna heading out to hunt bees.
Why it was perfect: This is one of those book moments that just couldn’t be missed out. Not only is it a chance for Brianna to learn something from Jamie, but it’s a chance for the two to bond. Brianna decides that she’s comfortable to call Jamie “Da.”
This is also a moment for Jamie to admit that he’s thankful to Frank. As much as he’s not happy another man had to raise his child, he’s grateful that someone was willing to step up to do it. And Frank did a good job with Brianna. That moment helped Brianna no longer feel as guilty getting to know her biological father.
3. Brianna and Roger’s handfasting
When it happened: Before getting into the big two, it’s all about that moment in Episode 8. After their reunion, Brianna and Roger reconnected and were finally handfasted. That followed with their consummation, which was as hot and sexy as we’d hoped.
Why it was perfect: There were so many things right with this moment. Without it being the moment Brianna and Roger connected, this was a mirror of Claire and Jamie’s wedding scene. We had the buildup to this point, getting to know the characters and seeing their different personalities joining.
And it was definitely the fact that it was a handfasting that made this all the more perfect. The glow of the fire on their faces, they made their promises and connected in a beautiful, traditional Scottish ceremony.
