5 best moments from Outlander Season 4, Episode 6
2. Willie looking back at Jamie
When Willie realized who Jamie was, he asked why Jamie never looked back. We got this heartfelt explanation of Jamie not wanting to give Willie hope.
After seeing the boundaries and almost being killed by the Cherokee warriors, Willie gets this new respect and love for “Mac.” Whether he believes that Jamie could be his father or not isn’t clear. I think it’s going to play at the back of his mind, but for now, he’s happy to believe that Jamie was just the groom at his grandparents’ estate.
At the very end of the episode, though, we got that look back. It was a look of hope and even led to Jamie taking a step or two forward. This was something to further the connection making it clear it’s not the last we’ve seen of Willie. It’s something that came up in the Inside the World for the week, showing that this was an important moment of the episode.
1. Jamie giving Claire the ring
You couldn’t possibly think that this moment would be left off the list, could you? It was my favorite moment and something I’d been waiting to see for a long time. The moment actually happens earlier in the books, but there wasn’t time to put it in. The producers decided Outlander Season 4, Episode 7 was the perfect time instead.
Stephen Bonnet’s attack isn’t something that’s come up much in the season. However, that ring meant the world to Claire and Jamie wanted to replace it. I’d seen filming spoilers of Claire wearing another ring, which suggested that this was coming up; that a slight book change would happen to bring us this romantic and beautiful moment.
What’s even better is that it followed an earlier beautiful moment. Claire made it clear that she wanted Jamie’s full attention once the guests were gone and that’s exactly what she got.
