2. Attempting to protect Willie
After questions about why Jamie never turned around, Willie was upset and angry. He decided not to respect the boundary with the Cherokee and went fishing in the wrong spot. Jamie knew immediately that it could cause trouble and that’s certainly what happened!
In an attempt to protect Willie, Jamie called out that Willie is his son. We know that to be true and for a moment, Willie looked confused, almost like he believed Jamie. There was a questioning glance, but he decided that it was just a statement to protect him. It doesn’t seem like Willie outright believed Jamie, but it could be enough to cast doubt later.
1. Giving Claire the ring
As suspected, the candlestick was used to fashion a ring for Claire. It’s a ring for Claire to replace the one that was stolen and matches her second one described in the book. This is a beautiful moment between the two and certainly ends the episode on a high.
After being apart the whole time (although a necessary episode to give both characters more development), we got a sexy and intimate moment between the two. Not only did Jamie give Claire a bath but he shared his heart with his wife.
