2. Hugging Claire

When Jamie returned to Fraser’s Ridge, he was happy to see Claire. Things hadn’t quite worked out, but he was just happy to be with his wife again. However, he instantly realized that there was something wrong. He didn’t need Claire to say anything and could tell from her face and the way she was dressed.

While bittersweet, this moment was perfect. Jamie initially asked what it was, but he knew she just needed to be held at that moment. Explanations could wait. He was there for her emotionally and physically, guilty that he had been gone for so long.

We’ve seen Jamie be Claire’s strength before and this was another one of those moments. It was the perfect connection between them.

1. A necessary reunion

During Outlander Season 4, Episode 5, we got the reunion we’ve needed all season. We knew it would come eventually. Murtagh was sent to the Colonies and now Claire and Jamie were there. What we didn’t realize was how we’d get that reunion.

After Young Ian was ripped off, Jamie decided to give the blacksmith an earful. It was in that moment Murtagh realized who he was dealing with and turned around to show his face. This moment was full of so much emotion and you could see it without any words at all. It will be hard to top that reunion moving forward.
