2. Roger’s gift for Brianna

During the festival, Brianna and Roger go into Brianna’s cabin. And I’ll just interrupt this to say how much I love that the two were staying in separate cabins. As an unmarried couple at the time, it’s admirable and I think this would have come at Roger’s insistence.

Anyway, just as it looks like they’re going to sleep together, Roger stops and gives Brianna the gift his brought: a bracelet. This does follow with their breakup scene, but it’s the gift that was so beautiful and thoughtful.

Roger is a romantic. It’s this moment that you can really tell he wants Brianna for far more than sex. He wants her to be happy, cherished, and loved. And there are moments that remind me of Jamie.

1. Deciding on Fraser’s Ridge

At the very end of the episode, Claire and Jamie are reunited after the storm. It’s there that they finally find their home. Overlooking the mountains, Jamie falls in love with the land.

In this second, Claire make a completely selfless decision. After all this time of wanting to live in a city, she realizes how much working the land and living around the mountains means to Jamie. He was the one that wanted to go back to Scotland and now he gets to feel a sense of home in the new world.

It’s a gorgeous moment with the backdrop. There’s a sense of hope for the future, despite everything Claire had seen the night before.
