2. The car journey
There’s a beautiful moment during the car journey. Brianna looks at Roger and tells him she’s pretty, before wiping the ketchup from his face.
This is just such a cute and innocent moment. There’s a connection between them that in emphasized at this point. Brianna feels something deeply, seeing Roger in a light that she’s possibly never seen him in before.
If she has seen him as “pretty” before, she’s never had the guts to tell him. It’s in this moment that she starts to come into her own. This moment sets up the confrontation the two will have later in the episode.
There are other cute moments that follow. That look Roger gives her when she calls him her boyfriend and the fun while dancing. All of those moments build up from this one, which is what makes this one so special.
Outlander Season 3 didn’t really give us a chance to build on their relationship. This is the first time we’ve really had that chance to see the connection and chemistry between them and it’s definitely there within this moment.
