As we move into two time periods, Roger MacKenzie is back in focus. Here are his top three moments in Outlander Season 4, Episode 3.

Roger MacKenzie is back in some focus on Outlander Season 4, Episode 3. Personally, I found his and Brianna’s storyline a little more entertaining than Claire and Jamies, although certainly adored the whole episode. Roger stood out as a stubborn but an honorable man, who only wants the best for Brianna.

As with the Jamie moments, I’m going to focus on Roger’s top three. After all, with the episodes split half-and-half between the two time periods at the moment, focusing on more would likely include every single scene and that defeats the purpose!

Here are Roger’s three best moments from Outlander‘s “The False Bride” for #ManCrushMonday.

3. The loss of a home

Roger doesn’t have stability, but one place he called home for many a year was the manse. We open the episode in Inverness in 1970 with Roger handing over the keys to Fiona and her man.

This is a beautiful scene. Fiona has met someone who loves her and they’ve making a home together. This gives us that knowledge of what happens to Mrs. Graham’s granddaughter to avoid questions of whether she’s still hung-up on Roger.

It’s also a turning point for Roger. After two years, he’s finally moving on from the manse. This is no longer his and it’s time for him to move onto his venture. But that doesn’t mean he’s fully ready for it. You can see that this place holds plenty of memories for him, good and bad. After saying goodbye to the man who became his father, he’s now saying goodbye to the place that had all those memories of him.
