Outlander takes on Poldark in CarterMatt’s Shiptober

Shiptober is into the next round of voting. Claire and Jamie made it through with ease in the first round. Now it’s Outlander vs. Poldark. Who will come out on top?

Claire and Jamie breezed through the first round of voting in CarterMatt’s Shiptober. Was it really that surprising? The two are the pivotal couple in Outlander and nobody wants to see them apart. Now they’re in the second round, it’s time for them to take on Poldark‘s Ross and Demelza.

Both fandoms are passionate, but I reckon Sassenachs are even more so. To be honest, there will be some crossover fans but Claire and Jamie tend to have the odds. Whether it’s from the book fans or the show fans (or even those who passionate fans of both), Claire and Jamie have been to hell and back and made it through together.

Romelza, as the ship is known as, won against Chicago Med‘s Will and Natalie. This isn’t too surprising considering the vocal and determined Poldark fanbase. The question is whether that fanbase can hold up against Outlander‘s. While Romelza has been through nightmare after nightmare like Claire and Jamie, they’ve not been forced apart for 20 years due to time travel. Nor have they come back stronger than ever (at least where Season 4 is concerned).

While fans can vote for Claire and Jamie, later in the week the voting for another Outlander couple will also open. Bree and Roger made it through the first round against the One Chicago ship Brettonio. This makes Outlander the only show with two ships moving into the second round, although Bree and Roger will go up against Wynonna Earp‘s WayHaught.

Voting for the ships is open until Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. PT. You can vote as much as you like up until that point. At the time of writing this, Claire and Jamie are comfortably in the lead, but don’t let that stop you from voting.
