7 biggest takeaways from the Outlander Season 4 official trailer
#4. Claire gets stuck in with the building and learns to shoot
The Colonies are a dangerous place. There’s no doubt about that. Claire may not know everything about the history of the time, but she’ll know that.
They’re not just on the edge of a brewing war. This is America in its infancy. There are Native tribes to work with and respect, and Claire will know all about how they were treated. She’ll want to do the right thing for them while in their area.
However, she’ll also want to protect herself and her family. We get snippets of the dangers, so it’s not surprising to see Claire learning how to shoot while she and Jamie build their home; start on Fraser’s Ridge.
Later, it’s clear she needed to learn how to shoot. At one point, she holds the musket and fires at someone. Will it be one of the Natives or will there be someone else putting her at risk? Claire doesn’t like killing people and tries to save her enemies, so she would need some motivation to hold up a musket and fire.
During the trailer in the woods, Jamie also drops his knife. Are they set upon by “thieves and outlaws” that Stephen Bonnet describes?
