2. The trust Jamie had

When Claire stops Angus from popping Jamie’s shoulder back in, there are looks from all the men. Claire isn’t afraid to give orders (I’ll get onto that). Most of them don’t like it, but you can see that Jamie is immediately different from all the rest. He’s just in pain and wants to be out of that pain.

Jamie could have easily told Claire to leave him alone, but he trusted her. There was a look between them, as he knew that she was comfortable putting dislocated shoulders back into joint. From the very first moment, he knew that this was a woman he could trust.

This bond continued to grow. As much as Claire wanted to fight back and hated the whole situation, Jamie showed nothing but kindness and trust. He looked out for her when she needed it, but also accepted help too when he knew he needed that.

Jamie had this respect for a woman he didn’t know, which is saying a lot for the time. He wasn’t the only one either. Murtagh and Dougal both had looks of respect, despite the suspicion they also held for her.

The bond between Jamie and Claire would only grow, but the chemistry was there. The Outlander series premiere delivered immediately on this relationship.
