Outlander Season 2, Episode 1: Through a Glass, Darkly

It definitely shouldn’t be surprising that the premiere of Outlander Season 2 is on this list. You’ll also not be surprised by the last episode. The first episode of the season sets up everything that is about to happen. We quickly learn that the Battle of Culloden is still the failure that it was the first time but that Claire somehow goes back to her own time.

This sets up everything that is about to happen in the third season. It becomes the start of Outlander Season 3, with Claire and Frank heading to America to start a new life together, while Claire is pregnant with her and Jamie’s child.

We also get to see Reverend Wakefield and Mrs. Graham a final time, who are important in the story.

Outlander Season 2, Episode 13: Dragonfly in Amber

Finally, you’ll want to rewatch the Outlander Season 2 finale. As the Battle of Culloden gets ever closer, Jamie decides to send his wife back through the stones to safety. While all that happens in the past, we get a glimpse of the things to come in 1968.

This is the episode we get to meet Brianna Randall and Roger Wakefield. We see the two gain an instant bond, as Claire finally gets the courage and chance to say what she thinks is goodbye to the man she has hated and loved for the last 20 years.

On top of that, we finally get to see Geillis Duncan and how she ends up through the stones. Brianna learns the truth about her parentage and we learn that Roger is actually a descendent of Geillis. Everything starts to fall into place, getting us ready for the third season.
