3. A Discovery of Witches panel

If you’re interested in other book adaptations, A Discovery of Witches is something to consider while at SDCC 2018. This is a new series adapted from the book of the same name, which is the first book of the All Souls trilogy. Author Deborah Harkness will moderate the panel, which will include the stars of the upcoming series, Teresa Palmer, Matthew Goode, Alex Kingston and Owen Teale.

The novel involves witches (as the name suggests), vampires, and historical fiction. It’s going to be up there for those with interests in some more interested in the fantasy genre, but does have its own romantic tale.

You can check out the panel in Ballroom 20 at 1 p.m. PT on Thursday.

2. Inside the Writers Room: From Script to Screen, the Break-Down

If you’re interested in seeing how a TV show goes from the script to the screen, you’ll be interested in this panel. This will certianly be a good followup from the panel looking at how books are adapted into TV shows. The panel is a full breakdown of the process, with some of the biggest names in screenwriting there to guide you.

Black Sails screenwriter Ashley E. Miller will be among the list of participants on the panel. This was one of Starz’s popular shows, ending just last year and something that may interest Outlander fans during Droughtlander. Counterpart‘s Amy Berg will also be there. Counterpart was the show that took over Outlander‘s timeslot back in December 2017 for its first season.

The panel takes place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. PT in Room 24ABC.
